Antony Starr will not be voicing Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1

Antony Starr, our Homelander from The Boys on Prime Video, won’t be dropping into Mortal Kombat 1 – at least, not in the way we were all hyped for.

Straight from Antony’s own Instagram, a fan hit him up about Homelander’s gig in Mortal Kombat 1, and the man’s reply was a straight-up “nope.” Talk about a plot twist, right? It’s like finding out your favorite character won’t make the crossover.

Eurogamer caught wind of this, and the letdown is real across the fan community. Someone on Reddit even dropped, “Not to be too much, but this is the most devastating one-word answer in human history.” Can’t you just feel the collective sigh echoing worldwide?

Now, the big question mark – who’s filling Homelander’s digital shoes in Mortal Kombat 1? Netherrealm Studios is playing it close to the chest, turning up the suspense for us.

Here’s the kicker – Mortal Kombat 1 is taking a different route with animated characters. Check out Omni-Man from Invincible, where J.K. Simmons is back in action, keeping that villainous charm alive.

As for why Antony Starr isn’t doing the voice for Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1, well, that’s a head-scratcher. In the gaming world, it’s like sometimes the character’s face sticks around, but the voice takes a back seat – just how things roll.
