Anker’s New Bluetooth Speakers Offer High-End Features at Affordable Prices

Soundcore Motion 100 and Motion 300 Deliver Premium Sound and Tough Outdoor Design

Anker, a company known for its innovative tech products, has introduced a pair of budget-friendly Bluetooth speakers that combine high-end features. The all-new Soundcore Motion 100 and Motion 300 are designed to be rugged companions for outdoor adventures while delivering high-resolution audio with support for Sony’s LDAC codec and Bluetooth 5.3, potentially ensuring compatibility with future LE Audio enhancements.

In its pursuit of elevating audio performance, Anker made a significant stride earlier this year with the release of the Soundcore Motion X600, the brand’s first spatial audio speaker capable of decoding hi-res LDAC sources (primarily for Android devices). These premium audio capabilities often come with a premium price tag, but Anker has managed to keep its latest speaker offerings remarkably affordable, positioning them as strong contenders among top Bluetooth speakers on the market.

The more budget-friendly choice of the two is the Motion 100, which offers slightly shorter battery life, lacks a detachable strap, and does not include Soundcore’s enhanced EQ customization and automated settings. It is priced at $59.99 or £59.99 (approximately AU$93) and is expected to be available in November 2023. Meanwhile, launching initially in the UK on October 24 is the feature-rich Motion 300, priced at £89.99 or $79.99 (around AU$124).

This competitive pricing puts Anker’s offerings in a favorable position when compared to the Bose SoundLink Flex, a similarly designed rectangular speaker with a carbon steel grill front, which retails for $149 or £149.95 (approximately AU$249.95) and is regarded as one of the best waterproof speakers for portability and controls.

Key Features of Soundcore Motion 100 and 300 Speakers: While Anker may be renowned for its power banks and chargers, the Soundcore audio range has earned high acclaim. Recent reviews, such as the one for the Soundcore Space One headphones, highlight Anker’s ability to offer impressive audio products at competitive prices.

The Motion 100 and 300 speakers bring premium features to the table, including stereo sound and adaptive EQ, which are typically associated with high-end audio brands. The Motion 300 boasts a more robust sound profile, featuring two 15W full-range drivers and two passive bass radiators for deep bass reaching down to 65Hz, and extending up to 40kHz. In contrast, the Motion 100 offers 20W output with two 10W drivers and a frequency range spanning from 75Hz to 40kHz.

Both speakers excel in connectivity, supporting Bluetooth 5.3 and the LDAC codec. They also offer varying levels of EQ customization, with the Motion 300 featuring SmartTune adaptive EQ, while the Motion 100 provides access to Soundcore’s Pro EQ settings through its dedicated app.

On the battery front, the Motion 300 offers a generous 13 hours of playtime, while the Motion 100 provides one hour less. Both speakers share an IPX7 rating, ensuring they are water-resistant, though they lack dust protection. Notably, the Bose SoundLink Flex boasts a more robust IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, making it a compelling choice for those valuing rugged durability.

Anker’s Soundcore Motion 100 and Motion 300 speakers combine affordability with premium features, making them strong contenders in the competitive Bluetooth speaker market.
