At the IFA 2023 event, Anker has introduced a range of Qi2 MagGo wireless charging stations and power banks, with a noticeable absence of Lightning-based products. Anker’s product lineup at the event hints at the impending arrival of USB-C iPhones, as the company is focusing on USB-C connectivity. Let’s take a closer look at the new Qi2 MagGo offerings, which represent an advancement from previous MagGo products.
The new Qi2 MagGo devices bear the MagSafe branding and offer 15W wireless charging, a significant improvement over the previous 7.5W charging capability. These Qi2 MagGo products include a 10,000mAh portable power bank featuring a built-in kickstand, an LCD display indicating battery level and charge time, and a USB-C port supporting charging speeds of up to 27W. Additionally, there is a 6,600mAh power bank designed to fold out into a phone stand.
In the realm of charging stations, Anker has introduced three new MagGo models, all capable of charging three devices simultaneously. These charging stations cater to Apple enthusiasts, providing the ability to charge an iPhone (at 15W), an Apple Watch, and AirPods concurrently. The three models offer varying designs, including a bedside table configuration resembling a tree with a charging base and two branches, a portable folding design, and a simpler layout with all three devices lined up in a row.
Furthermore, Anker showcased a spherical 67W MagGo charging station, which is an 8-in-1 solution. This charging station features a magnetic front pad offering 15W wireless charging, along with two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, and three AC power connectors on the rear panel.
Although Anker has announced these Qi2 MagGo chargers, they are not yet available for purchase, and pricing details have not been disclosed. These products are expected to hit the market later this year.
In addition to the Qi2 MagGo offerings, Anker also revealed a range of Nano USB-C chargers at IFA 2023, emphasizing the shift toward USB-C technology. These include a 22.5W dongle-style power bank with a retractable USB-C connector and a 6-in-1 Nano Charging Station (67W) featuring two USB-C and two USB-A ports, along with two AC ports. These products are already listed on Amazon in the US, with the power bank priced at $30 and the charging station at $66, although availability may vary.
Anker’s focus on USB-C connectivity and the absence of Lightning-based products in their new lineup suggests anticipation of USB-C iPhones on the horizon.
