Microsoft’s Xbox crew is going through a bit of a shakeup after snagging Activision Blizzard. So, check this out: Alan Hartman, the mastermind behind Forza Motorsport at Turn 10, is stepping up as the new head of Xbox Game Studios. His LinkedIn post spilled the beans, and he’s super pumped about leading this team of game creators.
Alan’s been steering the Turn 10 ship since 2005, and he’s the brains behind the Forza series and the ForzaTech engine. Big shoes to fill, but he seems up for the challenge.
Now, he’s taking over from Matt Booty, who got a promotion to president of gaming content and studios. Oh, and did I mention that Sarah Bond made history as the first Black president at Xbox? She’s reporting directly to the big boss, Phil Spencer.
And there’s more to come, for sure. With Microsoft swallowing up Activision Blizzard for a whopping $69 billion, we’re expecting more shifts in the Xbox world. Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch – they’re all part of the Microsoft family now. Bobby Kotick is still steering the Activision Blizzard ship for now, but he’s planning to step down at the end of 2023.
