A function for managing RGB lighting might be included to Windows 11

If you typically game on PC, there’s a strong chance you possess more than one component with RGB lighting. You may have even made the error of purchasing RGB components from several vendors. I understand if you simply nodded your head. Getting all of your PC’s lights to sync is a hassle. In the best-case situation, you get all of your RGB components from a single manufacturer and just need a single, presumably flawed programme to manage them. At worst, you’re forced to employ a slew of third-party tools in a hopeless effort to get everything to cooperate. Moreover, although programmes like SignalRGB offer to manage all of your RGB components, in my experience, they don’t perform as well as they could. All of this makes the possibility that Microsoft is working on a native Windows 11 solution for managing RGB lighting all the more interesting.

Last week, software developer Albacore discovered a secret function for managing RGB components in the newest Insider release of Windows 11. Microsoft has introduced lighting options to the customization menu inside the Windows 11 Settings programme, as shown in the images Albacore supplied (via Bleeping Computer). The interface displays all of your RGB components, including external peripherals. By clicking on a component, you may change the brightness and colour of its lights. You may also choose from a variety of effects and the rate at which they repeat. Microsoft has even provided the ability to match your computer’s lighting to the colour of your Windows accent.

Microsoft has not yet publicly acknowledged the menu Albacore discovered in Windows 11 build 25295. Nevertheless, according to Albacore, “the standard for this is from 2018, and references to the functionality have been around for years.” They believe this suggests Microsoft is reworking the function. Don’t get your hopes up just yet.
