Avalon, Destiny 2’s next Exotic task, has proved to be a difficult challenge for Guardians, but a few players have discovered that an Exotic weapon from the Forsaken update may help. Because of the grandiose size and mythology implications, exotic missions in Destiny 2 have always been popular with fans. These tasks are also challenging to finish due to the rough terrain, a few strategically placed mechanics, and lethal and tenacious adversaries.
Long-time Destiny 2 gamers will recall their thrill and apprehension when they entered the Taken gate and found themselves in the depths of Io. The Whisper was Destiny 2’s first Exotic task, and it quickly became a popular favourite. Since then, games like Zero Hour, Pressage, and others have brilliantly recreated the senses of both wonder and horror. The popularity of these Exotic missions is so strong that Bungie has allocated an entire team to develop more in the future and aims to introduce an Exotic Mission Rotator in Destiny 2 Season 22.
Within a week after the release of the Lightfall expansion, many Vex nodes were discovered in the EDZ’s Gulch location, causing quite a stir in the community. Players discovered a gateway that dumped them into the Vex network after gathering these nodes and travelling through a nearby cave. Due to the lethality of the Vex forces, the Avalon Exotic mission can be intimidating even for a seasoned Destiny 2 player, but a few community members have discovered the Wish-Ender Exotic Bow from The Shattered Throne dungeon can safely dispatch the final boss, possibly due to an unintentional damage glitch.
In a video shared by YouTuber Cheese Forever, a player is seen holding Wish-Ender while facing off against Brakion, Avalon’s last boss. The video shows Wish-Ender arrows breaching the invulnerable barrier and causing massive damage to Brakion in the second part of the battle. In the third phase, the player hides behind a Radiolarian waterfall to evade Brakion’s lethal strikes and fires across the stream to hit the monster. Both of these situations take use of Wish-inherent Ender’s benefits since the bow can safely pierce through boundaries and see adversaries past obstructions when the string is completely pulled. Some have hypothesised that the extra damage in the barrier phase may be a glitch, akin to Destiny 2’s new Exotic Stasis Glaive.
A similar glitch happened with Fighting Lion, which was later removed from Destiny 2’s new Root of Nightmares raid. As a result, those who want to complete the Avalon quest and claim their Vexcalibur should do so before it is patched out.
