Volkswagen unveils the ID.7 electric sedan with an impressive WLTP range of 435 miles

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the ID.7 electric sedan, showcasing its impressive long-distance capabilities. The new electric car boasts a 210kW (282HP) motor, combined with an optional 86kWh battery and a highly aerodynamic design to deliver an impressive claimed range of 435 miles on the WLTP test cycle. The car’s interior design and technology have also been significantly updated, including an augmented reality heads-up display, a 15-inch infotainment display, and a voice assistant to control various cabin features.

In addition to these features, the ID.7 also offers a range of driver aids, including Travel Assist, which uses crowdsourced data to help with navigation, and can perform highway lane changes. The car can also park itself, even if the driver is standing outside.

The ID.7 is expected to go on sale in Europe and China in the fall of 2023, with North American buyers having to wait until 2024. Although it may face challenges in the North American market, where crossovers and SUVs are popular, the car’s impressive range may make it an attractive option for those looking to minimize charging stops during long-distance trips.

Volkswagen has yet to disclose pricing details for the ID.7, but it’s clear that the car marks a significant step forward for the brand’s EV offerings. With its impressive range and luxury features, the ID.7 may be a compelling option for those looking to make the switch to electric driving.
