You can now set custom colours for Google Messages chat bubbles

Google has started seeding some new features for its Google Messages platform, and one of them includes the ability to change the colour of the chat bubble. Yes, that’s right!! You can now change the chat bubble to blue, in case you are facing a case of FOMO. You can choose your own colours ofcourse, and you can even different colours for each chat, giving it a unique personality.

Now, if you happen to have a newer Google Pixel Device, you can convert your photos into emojis using the photomoji feature which has been introduced with the new on-board Google AI. Simply choose the photo you want, select the subject in the photo, that you want to turn into a photomoji. You can now send this photomoji in your chats, and if yours friends like it, they can save and use the photomoji for themselves as well.

Next up, you have voice moods. In this, you can record a voice message and change the tone of it to suit the mood of the message. You can choose between a heart eye emoji, fireballs, party poppers, and much more. Google has also added in screen effects which make the chat screen behave differently, depending on the message and context. These are features you also find in iMessage, and this seems to be an honest attempt by Google, to give these quality of life features to Google Message users as well.

Users will also have the ability to create a profile, where a display picture will be displayed along with your name and contact details. This way, if you receive a message from an unknown contact, you will know.

These features are currently available in beta, and will be available in the latest version of Google Messages. The availability of features will depend on the region as well, so you may or may not receive all of these features, depending on where you stay.
