The world has gone camera phone crazy! Long gone are the days of blurry, pixelated shots. Remember when the camera feature on your phone was something kind of cool, but you didn’t really use it because pictures didn’t come out that well anyway. The days before Facebook (only pre 2004!), when you didn’t take pictures and then upload them straight away only to be inundated with ‘likes’ and comments. If you’re a teenager, or even in your twenties, it’s probably a distant memory by now!
Well, it’s become a staple part of our lives now, and our expectations for our phones are immense. They provide us with everything – music, info, communication, games, and of course, great camera function in an instant. We live in an instant world of clicking, sending, and receiving, so having better quality cameras on our phones has become a necessity rather than a luxury.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is one of the best on the market. It has an 8 mega pixel backside illuminated sensor, an auto focus lens, and an LED which serves as a lower power flash. The lens is at the top centre of the phone’s back, so you’ll never get your finger in the shot as you can sometimes do when the lens is located to the side.
The Half Press feature to the shutter button is a great idea. As with most smart phones, the button is on-screen, but with this phone, it focuses on the initial press, and then takes the shot when you remove your finger. This minimises your chances of getting a blurry shot.
Compared to the new apple iPhone, it has lots more exposure options. When you press the menu button, sliding menus come down with a transparent background. The interface is nice to look at and easy to use, making it all round one of the best camera phones available today!
