WhatsApp Adds Picture-in-Picture Support for iOS Video Calls

A new iOS upgrade for WhatsApp has started to be sent out by Meta. WhatsApp version 23.3.77, discovered this week by 9to5Mac, finally includes picture-in-picture capability for video calls. That’s a feature that iOS users of Meta’s chat app have been requesting for a long time, and one that the business started testing towards the end of last year, according to The Verge.

When you glance at another app, WhatsApp, like other platforms’ PiP modes, will shrink your video call, enabling you to multitask while still seeing the person you’re conversing with over the service. If you can’t use PiP right now, Meta says the functionality, along with other improvements made with WhatsApp’s recent upgrade, will be available “in the next weeks.”

In terms of additional additions, WhatsApp 23.3.77 lets you add subtitles to documents you transmit using the app. Meta has also improved group chat settings, enabling you to add lengthier topics and descriptions to better express what your chat groups are about. There’s also a new avatar creation option for your profile picture and stickers.
