We could be getting Samsung’s smart specs before the end of 2025

Samsung is already deep in development on an Android XR (extended reality) headset with Google—Project Moohan—but it turns out that’s not the only futuristic wearable in the works. A fresh report from South Korea’s ET News (via @Jukanlosreve) suggests that Samsung is also crafting a pair of AR (augmented reality) smart glasses, and they might hit the market before the year wraps up.

Codenamed Haean, these smart specs are reportedly in the final stages of design and specification tweaking. Samsung is reportedly spending a lot of time, trying to perfect the design, which, if reports are to be believed, will ensure a comfortable fit, no matter the shape and size of the user’s face. The smart specs are also expected to feature revolutionary gesture support, reducing the need for physical buttons to perform the desired tasks

While the specifications remain under wraps, this report hints at the possibility of a joint launch with the much-anticipated Android XR headset. Compared to past flops (Google Glass, anyone?), smart glasses seem to be gaining momentum again, with Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses currently setting the pace. Clearly, Samsung wants a piece of the action—and this isn’t the first time whispers of Samsung-branded smart eyewear have surfaced. In fact, the company trademarked the name “Samsung Glasses” back in 2023.

Under the hood, these glasses are likely to run on a Qualcomm chip, possibly featuring an integrated camera. Rumors also suggest that Samsung is aiming for an accessible price point—a refreshing move, given how pricey high-tech wearables can get.

Earlier speculation pointed to a January reveal alongside the Samsung Galaxy S25 at the Unpacked event, but that obviously didn’t happen. However, the clock is still ticking, and with nine months left in the year, a big reveal might be just around the corner.
