Warframe News: Mobile Client, In-Game Time Travel, and Occult Horror Unveiled in Exciting New Updates

Warframe, the renowned free-to-play sci-fi shooter, is set to receive two exciting updates, promising thrilling new adventures and technical enhancements. Developer Digital Extremes unveiled these updates during Tennocon, the game’s annual convention, marking an essential evolution in Warframe’s ongoing journey.

The first of these updates, “Whispers in the Walls,” is scheduled for release later this year. It represents a significant step forward in the game’s central storyline, offering players a fresh narrative arc. According to Warframe’s Community Director Megan Everett, this expansion will delve into occult themes, introducing an eerie and enigmatic atmosphere to the game.

Everett described “Whispers in the Walls” as “very ominous” and stated that it aims to explore some of Warframe’s most profound mysteries while embracing its occult focus. The update will introduce a hub, a new faction known as the Murmer, and a powerful new weapon, the Grimoire. The Grimoire enables players to unleash bolts of energy upon their foes, harnessing the power of knowledge in battle.

In addition to this mysterious expansion, Digital Extremes also unveiled “Warframe 1999,” a captivating time-traveling expansion that sends players back to the inception of the Warframe saga in pursuit of answers. This unique journey will immerse players in the 1990s, featuring elements such as grunge vibes, ’90s rock music, and even period-authentic details like “subway turnstiles.” The expansion promises to transport players to a distinct era within the Warframe universe.

“Whispers in the Walls” and “Warframe 1999” underscore the game’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovative and immersive experiences for its dedicated player base. As Warframe approaches its second decade, these updates offer a fresh perspective on the game’s lore while introducing exciting gameplay elements.

Furthermore, Digital Extremes has outlined its plans to launch a mobile version of Warframe in 2024, following a period of beta testing. This expansion to the game’s platform availability will extend Warframe’s reach to a broader audience. Additionally, a new cross-save feature is set to arrive later this year, enabling players to seamlessly switch between different platforms and continue their adventures.

With its commitment to storytelling, engaging gameplay, and technical advancements, Warframe continues to stand out as one of the best free-to-play games in the industry, ensuring a bright future for its enthusiastic community of players.
