Given the inherent challenges of dealing with offensive and discriminatory language on the internet, Twitch is implementing robust safety tools to accompany this feature. Similar to the regular Twitch chat, there are site-wide bans on specific words and phrases, along with the ability for individual creators to set their own restrictions. Additionally, if a user is banned from a chat due to inappropriate behavior, their pinned message will be removed as well. All messages transmitted through this feature undergo screening by Twitch’s AutoMod system, and human moderators retain the authority to delete messages as needed.
While the feature is currently rolling out exclusively for approved partners on the web app, Twitch has plans to extend its availability to smartphone and tablet applications in the near future. This expansion aims to ensure a consistent experience across different devices for users.
