Threads will offer features such as liking, commenting, reposting (re-threading), and sharing posts. According to app researcher Allesandro Paluzzi, the app has been described as “Instagram for your thoughts.” If you already have an Instagram account, your username will be reserved for you on Threads, allowing for a seamless transition to the new app.
