Xiaomi is always among the first manufacturers to integrate Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon chip, and this time is no exception, as the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have just been released in China.
Because the two phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship CPU, you can anticipate excellent performance for demanding gaming and other chores. However, the phones share many additional features, including IP68 certification, Leica camera tuning, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless top-ups.
Wi-Fi 6E, unique Surge chips for power management and quick charging, stereo speakers, and an IR blaster are all common features.
Xiaomi 13 Pro
The Pro model gets its name from a variety of improvements over the basic Xiaomi 13. A 6.73-inch QHD+ curved OLED screen (3,200 x 1,440, 120Hz), a 4,820mAh battery, and 120W wired charging rates are all to be expected.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro also stands out in terms of camera quality. For starters, it is equipped with the same one-inch IMX989 50MP primary camera (1.6-micron pixel size) as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. This camera has Xiaomi’s HyperOIS stabilisation technology.
A 50MP ultrawide shooter (with macro mode) and a 50MP 3x tele camera accompany the massive primary camera sensor (75mm equivalent, 10cm focusing distance).
The standard Xiaomi 13
Don’t want to spend the money on the Pro device? The standard Xiaomi 13 then makes several sacrifices to achieve a lower price point. A 6.39-inch FHD+ flat OLED screen (2,400 x 1,080, 120Hz), a 4,500mAh battery, and 67W wired charging are included.
The one-inch IMX989 primary camera of Xiaomi’s basic phone has been replaced with a 50MP IMX800 shooter (1/1.49-inch, one-micron pixel size, HyperOIS). A 12MP ultrawide sensor and a 10MP 3x telephoto lens perform secondary camera tasks (75mm equivalent).
The plain handset also stands out because of its design, which has the aforementioned flat screen as well as flat sides. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, has a curved screen and thin rails.
Pricing and availability for the Xiaomi 13 series
Because this is a China-only launch, for the time being, Xiaomi has only released pricing in its own country. The Xiaomi 13 Series will be available for purchase in China beginning December 14. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is available in four storage configurations: 8GB + 128GB for $4,999 Chinese yuan ($716), 8GB + 256GB for $5,399 yuan ($773), 12GB + 256GB for $5,799 yuan ($830), and 12GB + 512GB for $6,299 yuan ($902).
The Xiaomi 13 is also available in four storage configurations: 8GB + 128GB for 3,999 yuan ($572), 8GB + 256GB for 4,299 yuan ($615), 12GB + 256GB for 4,599 yuan ($658), and 12GB + 512GB for 4,999 yuan ($716).
The brand’s mainstream flagship phones are typically released in worldwide regions a few months after their home debut. So, we’re predicting a Q1 2023 release for the rest of the world.
The Xiaomi Pro will be available in three colours: Ceramic Black, Ceramic White, and Wilderness Green (with a ceramic back as well). Meanwhile, the regular gadget is available in Black, White, and Wilderness Green with a glass back. Both gadgets will also be offered with a pleather finish in Blue.
