The new Odyssey Neo G9 from Samsung will be the “first” 8K ultrawide gaming display

Gamers will need screens that can support 8K video at high refresh rates now that AMD has released Radeon RX 7900 GPUs. Samsung is eager to oblige. The business teased a new iteration of its Odyssey Neo G9 gaming display, which would allegedly be the first 8K ultrawide gaming panel. The actual launch won’t happen until CES in January, but you’ll need a DisplayPort 2.1-capable video card to get the most out of that screen. We’d also like to point out that AMD lists the 8K as “horizontal only,” so you may not receive as many vertical pixels as you’d like.

Acer, ASUS, Dell, and LG will release high-resolution DisplayPort 2.1 displays in early 2023. Unfortunately, AMD did not provide any further information.
