The most recent Pixel 6 update significantly reduced notification vibrations

Despite the fact that this may sound familiar, there is something wrong with the most recent software update for Google’s Pixel 6 smartphones. The version of Android that Google delivers to phones running its proprietary Tensor processor has experienced some strange troubles, but this time, instead of issues with Wi-Fi or a delayed thumbprint scanner, the issue is hurting another important feature: notifications. However, for some reason, the strength of the vibration is now substantially weaker than it was previously. They continue to appear on the phone on a frequent basis.

Although adjusting the phone’s strength slider appears to have no effect, this shows that the problem is a defect rather than the result of an intentional design decision. The identical issue was brought to the attention of Reddit users during the Android 12.1 beta, but it appears to have found its way into the commercial release without any sort of response or modification. According to Droid-Life, after a list of changes in the March Pixel update appeared on March 7th, Google added a paragraph stating that the update includes a “Fix for issue causing reduced haptic feedback in certain settings” on March 8th, according to the publication.

It appears that at least a few people have expressed satisfaction with the modification, but if you are not one of them, you may have to wait for another update or download another program that allows you to control vibrations directly.
