The same source also revealed to MacRumors what the iPhone 14’s speculated always-on display may look like. When the device is locked, users will allegedly be able to totally modify the appearance of the screen, allowing them to alter the shade of their wallpaper’s foreground (while the remainder stays darkened) so that just a section of the picture comes through. Widgets will also show on the always-on display, according to a MacRumors source, but will fade in and out gently to assist avoid OLED burn-in. With an always-on display set, any alerts will show at the bottom of the screen for roughly 10 seconds before fading.
