The Director of Dragon’s Dogma 2 Tells Fans to ‘Stay Tuned’ for More Game News

After the first understated announcement and subsequent quiet on Dragon’s Dogma 2, this update doesn’t provide much more in the way of further information, such as concept art, a release date, or a gameplay video, yet it was sufficient for some fans to feel pleased. Others were pleased to learn that additional information about the game would be released in 2023, with many expressing their enthusiasm and hope that the creators will be able to outdo the original.

One of the few details known about the new open-world action RPG is that it will employ Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, which has previously been used in titles such as Resident Evil 8, Exoprimal, and Street Fighter 6. Itsuno’s last game, Devil May Cry 5, was also produced using this engine, thus the director is familiar with the tools. Itsuno has previously claimed that approximately 60-70% of what the team originally desired was incorporated in the first Dragon’s Dogma game and that he planned to include the remaining concepts for the sequel. More information regarding the game will not be available until later in 2023.
