Tesla's V4 Supercharging Dispensers Bring New Features to EV Charging

Tesla’s V4 Supercharging Dispensers Bring New Features to EV Charging

Introducing Integrated CCS1 Adapter, Credit Card Reader, and More

Previously, charging a non-Tesla EV on a Supercharger was authenticated and paid for through the Tesla app. However, the introduction of a credit card reader and a small display on the new V4 dispensers, which was initially used in Europe, promises to offer customers an additional direct method of access. This update is particularly welcomed as it simplifies the process for occasional Supercharger users, eliminating the need to create an account or sign up for the network.

Friendly Design for Non-Tesla Drivers

The V4 dispensers with the Magic Dock adapter offer a more user-friendly experience for non-Tesla drivers compared to the V3 dispensers. One significant improvement is the significantly longer cable, ensuring it can reach charging inlets located in various positions on the vehicle, whether at the front, rear, left, or right.
