John Cena has been making a surprising appearance as a “mysterious hacker” in the Overwatch 2 community, interrupting streams of high-profile content creators to warn of the impending threat of Null Sector, an antagonistic group of Omnics set to invade the world of Overwatch.
This mysterious figure, known as “The Enigma,” had been hacking into streams of well-known Overwatch 2 content creators, including Kyedae, Scump, and Shroud, to deliver his message.
However, The Enigma has now unveiled his true identity as none other than John Cena. Cena is now urging all Overwatch players to “prepare for the invasion.”
Blizzard has revealed details about the Overwatch 2 Ultimate Invasion Bundle, which includes permanent access to Invasion Story Missions, the Invasion Premium Battle Pass with over 80 tiers of cosmetics (including a new Mythic skin for Ana), 20 Battle Pass Tier Skips, 2,000 Overwatch Coins, and two exclusive Legendary Null Sector-themed skins for Cassidy and Kiriko.
Blizzard also announced that Overwatch 2 is coming to Steam, coinciding with the Invasion launch on August 10. This marks the first of what Blizzard hopes will be many titles joining the Steam platform. The move is part of Blizzard’s efforts to attract different audiences to its multiplayer FPS title, making Overwatch 2 “the perfect title for Blizzard’s debut on the platform.”
John Cena commented on his involvement, stating, “It’s been fun seeing the Overwatch community try to put a face to The Enigma. Sometimes a face you can’t see is just what the world needs to sound the alarm of a looming, worldwide threat.”
