Starfield Goes All-Digital for Physical Editions

In an unexpected turn of events, it appears that Starfield, the highly anticipated action-RPG from Bethesda, will not be available on physical discs. A now-deleted tweet from the Bethesda Support Twitter account revealed that “there are no physical discs” and that “all physical editions include a code for the chosen platform.”

Although the tweet has been removed, internet archives like the Wayback Machine have preserved its contents. Players who discovered this information reached out to Bethesda through their official social media accounts, as well as the account that initially shared the news, but have yet to receive a response.

The accuracy of the tweet remains uncertain, and with the lack of reliable Twitter verification, it is challenging to determine the authenticity of various accounts. Bethesda has not officially commented on the situation, leaving fans in limbo regarding the availability of physical copies of Starfield.

Set to release on September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, Starfield has been generating significant buzz among gamers. Todd Howard, the renowned game director and producer, recently announced that the game’s romance options will revolve around four main characters. In a Kinda Funny Xcast episode on June 22, Howard addressed the topic of romances in the open-world RPG, stating that the four main characters will have full questlines and support for romantic relationships.

Additionally, it has been revealed that Starfield will feature a combination of handcrafted locations placed strategically throughout the galaxy and randomly generated locations when players land on certain planets. However, fans of fishing will be disappointed to learn that this activity will not be included in the game.

As fans eagerly await more information and clarification from Bethesda regarding the availability of physical editions, the anticipation for Starfield continues to grow.
