Respawn Studios has offered fans another glimpse at a handful of the worlds players may explore ahead of the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, with some supposedly boasting a more open-world style. While the original game included numerous unique places, players in Star Wars Jedi: Survival will have more flexibility to explore the planets represented.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has a lot to live up to as the sequel to the popular Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. As such, the sequel intends to expand on the previous game’s lightsaber fighting and distinct worlds. While Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been delayed by almost six weeks, fans have continued to get sneak peaks of what to anticipate from Cal Kestis and his droid BD-1’s next journey in a galaxy far, far away.
Respawn has provided further facts about the planets in the run-up to the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. According to a recent video in which IGN highlighted its five hours of gameplay with the game, the sequel would apparently expand beyond the more linear arrangement of the planets in the first Star Wars: Fallen Order. At least some of the new worlds that players will explore are called “broad open” and look to provide players more leeway in what they do.
The video went over Koboh, one of the new planets in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and gave a deeper look at how the planet appeared in the game. While the early phases of Koboh were more constrained, it eventually becomes much more open, producing a “world that sprawls out in every direction,” according to IGN. Its more open structure helps players to discover surprises and opponents that they would otherwise miss if they merely followed the main path.
According to IGN, one of the major goals of the game’s five hours of playability was to find a cantina to fix Cal’s crashed Mantis. Players may, however, opt to explore in other directions, where they will be rewarded with further discoveries. A cave with a boss, a Bedlam Raider camp, and a puzzle chamber inside a Jedi Chamber were all suggested as examples. It is worth mentioning, though, that there are supposedly even more locations to explore, but they require extra upgrades to access.
While these new facts assist to offer players a clearer sense of what to anticipate in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Respawn has yet to provide additional information. Luckily, the wait for the sequel is approaching an end, since it is over two months from its April 28 release date. Ideally, the game will be able to provide something new to fans while maintaining the real Star Wars experience that contributed to make the previous game so successful.
