Sony’s Refusal to Send Dev Kit to Mojang Stalled PS5 Minecraft Release

In another recent media interview, Phil Spencer commented on the potential release of an Xbox Series X successor. He expressed that there is currently no “imperative” for the company to introduce a new Xbox console, stating that the feedback they are receiving does not indicate a demand for a successor. According to Spencer, the Xbox Series X and Series S, which were launched in late 2020, have met the hardware needs and expectations of gamers.

The Xbox Series X, with its powerful capabilities and ability to deliver 4K resolution out of the box, has been on the market for nearly three years. This timeframe reflects a shift in the console industry, as the previous generation saw a revision with the Xbox One X released three and a half years after the original Xbox One. The decision to release an upgraded version was driven by the goal of providing consumers with 4K gaming experiences.
