Skiff’s ‘Noise Canceling’ Revolutionizes Email Privacy: 10x More Powerful Than Competitors!

Skiff introduces game-changing email unsubscribing tool.

Skiff, the trusted encrypted email service, has unleashed a groundbreaking solution to address the common woe of managing cluttered inboxes. Aptly named “Noise Canceling,” this new feature promises to be a game-changer, surpassing its closest competitors by a whopping 10-fold.

As of October 1, 2023, all Skiff users, including those on the free tier plan, can enjoy the benefits of this privacy-first email unsubscribing tool. Noise Canceling is seamlessly integrated into the inbox, aiming to enhance the email experience by providing a more private, focused, and productive environment.

In the words of Andrew Milich, Skiff’s Co-Founder and CEO, “We hear a lot from everyone that managing your inbox is very difficult. Some people get to a point where their inbox is like a trash can if they just let it become overwhelmed.” Indeed, spam emails are known to devour countless work hours every year. The Noise Canceling feature, however, offers a straightforward solution—transforming your inbox from chaos to a sanctuary of productivity while bolstering your security.

This tool is ingeniously designed to automatically sift through the “noise” in your inbox, banishing unwanted newsletters, intrusive ads, and annoying senders, thereby conserving your storage space. Noise Canceling operates directly within Skiff email, granting users the ability to mute, silence, block, and unsubscribe from bothersome senders and bulk junk emails.

Milich highlights the advantage of building their email service from the ground up, allowing them to incorporate such features directly into your inbox. Noise Canceling is an evolution of Skiff’s unsubscribe button, simplifying the process of opting out of recurring emails by aggregating potential subscriptions to threads, making the process significantly faster and more efficient.

Users will notice a new button on the left side of the inbox’s Free Space footer. Upon clicking, a dialogue window will suggest senders you can choose to block or silence en masse. Users can also silence a sender directly from the email thread, with all changes easily reversible in the settings.

Importantly, Milich assures that this process is both secure and private, as Noise Canceling operates discreetly by analyzing senders’ addresses while maintaining encryption to safeguard communications.

What sets Noise Canceling apart from other email unsubscribe tools is its ability to silence hundreds of senders at once, eliminating the need for third-party connections, which helps protect user privacy. Furthermore, it efficiently manages storage by muting senders and removing unwanted emails, all while being entirely free to use.

Founded in 2020 by Andrew Milich and CTO Jason Ginsberg, Skiff aimed to empower users with more control over their online information. Their encrypted collaboration platform, Skiff Mail and Drive, was launched publicly in 2022. Despite facing challenges from authoritarian governments, Skiff’s popularity steadily grew, reaching 1 million users in July.

Currently, the Skiff team is diligently working on enhancing various aspects of their platform, including Skiff Email, Pages, Drive, and Calendar. While we anticipate exciting releases in the near future, Noise Canceling is now accessible to all users across Skiff’s email apps, marking a significant stride towards decluttering and securing inboxes. As Milich puts it, “We’re very excited about this. Hopefully, in a couple of months, we’ll have millions of emails that have been blocked by Noise Canceling.”
