Sennheiser, renowned for its personal audio hardware, is now entering the over-the-counter hearing aid market, targeting individuals who are already fans of the brand’s audio products. The company has unveiled its All-Day Clear and All-Day Clear Slim hearing aids, both of which come with a charging case similar to those accompanying Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless line or other Bluetooth earbuds. With up to 16 hours of battery life, the included charging case aims to simplify the recharging process for users.
As expected, Sennheiser claims that its new hearing aids offer strong audio quality, featuring smart scene detection that optimizes voices based on the surrounding environment. Users can personalize the sound to their specific hearing levels using a mobile app, a process that reportedly takes just five minutes. Moreover, for those seeking to immerse themselves in music, the hearing aids can be used like regular wireless earbuds.
Choosing between the models primarily comes down to size and price. The All-Day Clear series will be available starting mid-July, with the standard All-Day Clear priced at $1,400, and the All-Day Clear Slim priced at $1,500. Sennheiser will also offer an In-Clinic Care Package for individuals who prefer professional assistance.
While Sennheiser’s over-the-counter hearing aids may not be the most affordable or compact options on the market, competitors such as Sony’s CRE-C10 and Lexie’s Bose-powered B1 boasting smaller form factors and longer battery life, they still offer a more accessible price point compared to prescription models, which typically cost $1,000 or more per ear. Sennheiser’s reputation for audio quality may make the additional investment worthwhile for consumers.
The launch of Sennheiser’s All-Day Clear series comes as no surprise, as the company sold its consumer audio business to Sonova, a specialist in hearing aids, in 2021. The partnership aimed to expand Sonova’s audience to a younger demographic while allowing Sennheiser to focus on its professional products. The collaboration between the two companies has now materialized in products like the All-Day Clear series, which can potentially benefit from the combined expertise of both firms.
