Samsung Unveils Pro Ultimate Memory Cards: Powering Creators with Unmatched Speed and Reliability

Samsung has officially unveiled its latest flagship memory cards, bearing the moniker ‘Pro Ultimate.’ With the ever-increasing file sizes and the continuous enhancement of image and video quality in the industry, these high-performance memory cards aim to cater to a wide range of creators, from traditional DSLR users to enthusiasts of modern drones and action cameras.

Available in both microSD and full SD formats, Samsung’s Pro Ultimate memory cards feature an improved 28-nanometer design that not only delivers superior performance but also enhances power efficiency, allowing devices to enjoy extended battery life despite increased performance demands.

The Pro Ultimate memory cards come in three capacities for microSDXC and SDXC formats: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Additionally, the larger SD card variant is available in a 64GB capacity.

Irrespective of capacity, these memory cards promise “best-in-class” read speeds of up to 200MB/s and write speeds of up to 130MB/s, representing the pinnacle of performance achievable through the UHS-I interface. They also provide support for 4K UHD and FHD video recording, with V30 classification.

Highlighting the importance of catering to the high-resolution content needs of professional creators, Hangu Sohn, Head of Samsung’s Memory Brand Product Biz Team, stated, “the new Samsung Pro Ultimate significantly reinforces such needs through enhanced controller technologies and multi-proof protection features.”

These memory cards come equipped with impressive protection features, including water resistance for up to 72 hours in two meters of water, a five-meter drop-proof design, resistance to up to 10,000 swipes, X-ray and magnet safeguards, shock resistance of up to 1,500kg, and an operating temperature range spanning from -25°C to 85°C, ensuring durability in a wide range of environments.

Samsung has also unveiled pricing details for this range, with microSD cards available starting at £19.49 MSRP this month and standard SD cards starting at £15.99 from October. Furthermore, both variants will be offered with a USB card reader optimized for handling the enhanced performance, priced at £24.99 (microSD) and £21.79 (SD).
