Samsung may have let slip the release date for the Galaxy S24

A lot of rumours have been doing the rounds on social media, regarding the release date of the hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S24. The first round of rumours pointed towards a guaranteed January release. The second round of rumours spoke about it being towards the end of January. But now, it seems that there is a solid date locked in, and believe it or not, it sits bang in the middle of assumptions.

A South Korean site named SBS Biz has put out a claim that the Samsung Galaxy S24, and it’s siblings, the Galaxy S24 Plus and the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be officially unveiled on the 17th of January, 2024. The site has also claimed that Samsung has seemingly finalised the plans for the launch event, which is scheduled to take place in San Francisco.

The date being mentioned lines up with previous rumours, making it a bit more believable. Ofcourse, everything is in the air at the moment, but if it is in January, Samsung Fans don’t have a long wait. The site SBS Biz adds that Samsung is aiming to release their new generation of flagship smartphones a little earlier in order to challenge the iPhone 15, and also boost their struggling semiconductor business.

Something else that has been buzzing about the Galaxy S24 series is that they will extensively use Generative AI in their software. What exactly it is, and the sheer extent of AI in the software is still unknown, but considering that there is not a long wait, we should start getting details from official channels soon.
