Baldur’s Gate has been receiving some much needed updates and patches, and today, we are happy to announce that Patch 4 for the game is now live. According to the patch notes, it looks like the developers have worked overtime and brought close to 1000 fixes and also included new accessibility setting for colour-blind gamers. Larian Studios, the developers behind the Baldur’s Gate game, candidly revealed that the patch is so big that the patch notes are exceeding the word limit on Steam, and that players should check out the complete set of patch notes on the official website.
The developers decided to focus on creating a patch that addresses all major problem, rather than introducing new content. This way, the base product can be finessed and then, they can introduce new content. They also noticed that there was a section of gamers who are colour blind and decided to add in some much needed accessibility features for their comfort and ease of use.
“In this update, we’ve added a setting in the Accessibility tab that will allow you to choose between protanopia, deuteranopia, or tritanopia, which will apply to character outlines and circles, character map markers, frame portraits in turn order, and party portraits,” Larian explained.
“We hope that including these settings will allow you to more easily differentiate between friends, foes, and help with navigating combat!”
Baldur’s Gate 3 seems to be shaping up to become one of the finest games we have played and personally, we are absolutely enjoying it at the moment.
