Samsung launches Galaxy Z TriFold with three folding panels

Samsung announced the Galaxy Z TriFold today (December 2, 2025). The phone has an inward folding design with three panels and two hinges. When fully unfolded, it measures 159.2 by 214.1 by 3.9 millimeters at its thinnest point. When folded, the dimensions are 159.2 by 75.0 by 12.9 millimeters. The device weighs 309 grams. It includes a vibration alert and on screen warning if folded incorrectly.

The main screen is a 10 inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 1584 by 2160 pixel resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and up to 1600 nits peak brightness. The cover screen is 6.5 inches with 1080 by 2520 pixels, also LTPO AMOLED at 120 Hz and 2600 nits peak brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. Screen panels meet with minimal gap when closed but no contact. Hinges resist wear, and screens have a reinforced overcoat.

 

 

The phone features the all-new Android 16 with One UI 8. It uses a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy on a 3 nm process, with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB UFS storage options. It supports 5G, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 5.4, USB C with on the go charging, NFC, side fingerprint sensor, face unlock, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer. It has IP48 water and dust resistance up to 1 meter for 30 minutes and Samsung Knox security.

The rear camera system matches the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It includes a 200 MP wide angle lens with f/1.7 aperture, 24 mm focal length, 1/1.3 inch sensor, 0.6 micron pixels, multi directional PDAF, and OIS. A 10 MP telephoto lens has f/2.4, 67 mm focal length, 1/3.94 inch sensor, 1.0 micron pixels, PDAF, OIS, and 3x optical zoom. The 12 MP ultra wide lens uses f/2.2, 13 mm focal length, 120 degree field of view, 1/2.55 inch sensor, and 1.4 micron pixels with dual pixel PDAF. Video recording supports 8K at 30 fps, 4K at 60 fps, and 1080p at 60 fps with HDR and panorama. Both main and cover screens have 10 MP front cameras with f/2.2 aperture. The main front camera has a 100 degree field of view.

The battery is a 5600 mAh three cell system, with cells placed in each of the three panels for balanced power. It supports 45 W wired super fast charging, 15 W wireless charging, reverse wired charging, and reverse wireless charging. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack or FM radio. The Galaxy Z TriFold comes in Crafted Black. Pricing details are not available. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 starts at $2000 with a 6.5 inch cover screen, 8 inch inner screen, 8.9 mm folded thickness, and 215 gram weight. Sales begin in South Korea on December 12, 2025. Availability follows in China, Taiwan, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and the United States in Q1 2026.
