Following the buzz of Samsung Unpacked 2023, attention is now turning to Samsung’s next project: a smart ring. According to reports from South Korean outlet The Elec via SamMobile, mass production of the Samsung Galaxy Ring could commence as early as August, with a targeted launch in 2024.
The smart ring is expected to offer various health tracking capabilities, measuring vital statistics such as steps and heart rate. However, due to the nature of the device, it needs to undergo rigorous regulatory approval before hitting the market.
While an exact launch date has not been confirmed, the Galaxy Ring is rumored to be released alongside the Samsung Galaxy S24, possibly in January or February 2024, similar to Samsung’s 2023 product release schedule.
Speculation about a Samsung Galaxy Ring has been swirling since last year when a patent surfaced, hinting at a smart ring designed for health tracking purposes. Earlier this year, a trademark filing further solidified the existence of the Galaxy Ring, describing it as a smart device focused on measuring health indicators and sleep in the form of a ring.
Recent news also revealed that Galaxy Ring prototypes have undergone testing, indicating an advanced stage of development. As the signs continue to align, it appears increasingly likely that the Samsung Galaxy Ring will become a reality sooner rather than later.
Currently, the third-generation Oura stands as one of the most well-known smart rings, offering insights into health and sleep patterns. If the Galaxy Ring follows a similar trajectory, it could further enhance Samsung’s presence in the wearable technology market, providing users with a new and innovative way to track their health and well-being.
