Samsung has debuted its “Text Call” function in English, which was first introduced with One UI 5 and Bixby last year. Users may use the programme to convert voice calls into written text and vice versa. Originally accessible in Korean, the capability is now available in the United States and allows users to answer calls by inputting a message that Bixby will then read out to the caller. It can also transcribe the caller’s speech, which is handy for persons who are deaf or are taking a call in a loud setting.
While Bixby already offers various speech options, users may also tailor the voice used to answer calls. Users may record a few lines using the new Bixby Custom Voice Generator, and the assistant will evaluate their voice and tone using artificial intelligence to simulate how they sound. These capabilities are currently limited in that the Voice Maker is only accessible in Korean, and Text Call is only available on a few smartphones, including the Samsung S23 series, Z Fold 4, and Z Flip 4.
Samsung has also updated Bixby with additional capabilities, such as the option to modify the assistant’s wake word, allowing users to create their own phrase. Furthermore, Bixby can now play exercise music on Samsung Health and record routines on the Calendar app. Lastly, Samsung has increased Bixby’s offline features, including the ability to set timers, take screenshots, and turn on the torch.
