Following the recent showcase of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay, Insomniac Games has unveiled another exciting announcement. The studio’s highly acclaimed title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, will be making its way to PC on July 26th.
As is customary with PC versions of PlayStation exclusives, the PC port of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will come with additional enhancements. According to Julian Huijbregts, an online community specialist at Nixxes (the Sony studio responsible for the port), players can expect new features such as “ray-traced shadows for natural light in outdoor areas,” which will provide realistic shadows with natural gradients in softness. The gameplay and cutscenes have also been optimized for ultra-wide displays, catering to aspect ratios of 21:9, 32:9, and even 48:9 for triple-monitor setups.
The PC version will offer unlocked framerates, allowing for a smoother gaming experience. It will also support upscaling technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS, and Insomniac’s own Temporal Injection. Additionally, players will have the option to use either a keyboard and mouse with fully customizable controls or a controller. If using a DualSense controller, they can enjoy the same haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects as on the PlayStation 5.
