Ralph Lauren has boarded the fight bus. The brand is the latest to collaborate with Fortnite, and as part of the agreement, the company’s distinctive horse emblem has been updated with a cartoon llama.
The announcement has two sides to it. The first is a digital component, with two Lauren-designed in-game ensembles accessible in the Fortnite item shop beginning November 5th.
There will also be a tangible component, with a capsule line of IRL clothing available beginning November 2nd. Hats, hoodies, and, of course, polo shirts will be included. The business also claims to be working on a real replica of the boot worn by the in-game characters, which will be available for purchase in the future.
Ralph Lauren claims that this is the first time the logo has been redone in this manner, which it describes as “a monument to the company’s confidence in the potential of the metaverse.”
The Fortnite x Ralph Lauren collaboration is more intricate than others, but this type of fashion x gaming mashup has been increasingly popular in recent years. Fortnite has featured in-game clothes from Balenciaga and Moncler; Gucci has a presence in Roblox; Louis Vuitton skins are available in League of Legends; and, most recently, Minecraft and Burberry announced a collaboration so that you may dress just like your blocky avatar.
