PlayStation has released a slew of new freebies that do not require PS Plus membership

When PlayStation releases a freebie, it’s always a happy occasion, especially when it doesn’t involve PlayStation Plus. That being said, if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription, you can now get Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Biomutant, and Divine Knockout: Founder’s Edition – which feels like five games because Mass Effect Legendary Edition includes the entire mainline trilogy.

In fact, we’re expecting more PlayStation Plus news this week, as we’ll soon learn what extra and premium subscribers can expect. But let’s get away from PlayStation Plus for a moment because today I’m bringing you a slew of freebies that anyone can get.

According to ComicBook, PlayStation Demo Fest 2022 is currently in progress, and it is exactly what it sounds like. There are several demos for games that are currently in development that players can check out, but one stands out. You can now play Luminous Productions’ upcoming title Forspoken (PS5), which is due out on January 23, 2023. Forspoken had a bad reputation due to some questionable trailer dialogue, but at least we can now judge the game based on what matters: its gameplay.

That isn’t all. Demos are also available for the story-driven adventure Thirsty Suitors (PS4, PS5), the bicycle road trip Season: A Letter to the Future (PS4, PS5), the Nordic fable-inspired Bramble: The Mountain King (PS5), and the unique racer You Suck At Parking (PS5). Season’s demo is only available until the end of play today, December 12th, so you won’t have much time with it. The rest of the game should be playable for the foreseeable future. Thirsty Suitors is currently only available in North America.

We have one more freebie up my sleeve, though it may be less exciting. On the PlayStation Store, you can now get a free emote pack for Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
