Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable will be released on current consoles in January 2023

Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable re-releases are set to arrive on January 19th, 2023, according to Persona creator Atlus. The two JRPGs will be available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. (via backward compatibility).

While Persona 3 Portable is making its debut on Steam, Persona 4 Golden has been accessible since 2020 and became a confirmed Steam Deck title early this year. Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 5 Royal were initially announced on other platforms in June.

While Atlus did not provide a release date for the two previous games, it did reveal that Persona 5 Royal would be available on Xbox, Switch, PS5, and Switch on October 21st, marking the first time a Persona game will be available on a non-PlayStation system.

Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are remastered versions of their original counterparts, which were released on the PSP in 2009 and the PS Vita in 2012. In our review of Persona 5 Royal, we termed it “the ultimate version of an already outstanding RPG.” Both games are now unavailable for preorder on newer platforms, however, Persona 5 Royal is accessible in both physical and digital formats.
