Nvidia DLSS update arrives for Starfield

Guess what, Starfield players? There’s a cool new update in town – version 1.8.86. The highlight? Nvidia DLSS support is finally here for PC players. DLSS 3, fresh out of beta, is now fully integrated into the game. So, if you’ve got an Nvidia graphics card that’s compatible, you can enjoy the perks of DLSS Super Resolution, Deep Learning Anti-aliasing (DLAA), Nvidia Reflex Low Latency, and DLSS Frame generation.

Before this update, only Radeon’s FSR2 upscaling tech was supported, leaving Nvidia users in the dust. Many turned to mods to bring DLSS into the mix for a smoother gaming experience. But now, with DLSS support officially added, Nvidia users can level up their visuals.

But that’s not all! The update also brings a bunch of improvements to boost performance and stability. High-end GPU owners get extra love with added GPU performance optimizations. The renderer threading model has been revamped to reduce CPU usage, especially on powerful systems. Various memory-related issues have been tackled for a smoother gaming experience.

In the gameplay department, there’s a cool new feature – now, you can munch on the food and drinks you find in the game world without diving into your inventory. Stealth has also received tweaks to make it more forgiving. Bugs and glitches, like NPCs going au naturel and weapons refusing to fire, have been squashed.

Graphics-wise, ambient occlusion in ultrawide resolutions gets a fix, and the initial shader compilation is optimized. Want to tweak the brightness and contrast? Now you can, thanks to new adjustments in the Display Settings menu. Visual issues related to DLSS on PC have also been sorted out.

The questing experience has seen some love too. Quests like “All That Money Can Buy,” “Blast Zone,” and “Echoes of the Past” had some pesky issues ironed out for smoother progression.

So, whether you’re soaring through space or diving into epic quests, Starfield’s latest update aims to make your journey a whole lot better. Get ready to explore the cosmos with enhanced visuals and performance.
