As with every year for the past decade or so, September means that Apple’s yearly product launch event cannot be too far away. This year, the expectation is that the new iPhone 12 will have the biggest changes in design in recent memory, as the iPhone 11 is still based on the design of the 2017 iPhone.
Some of the expected additions include support for 5G networks, which will allow iPhone users to access blazingly fast internet speeds on their phones, and give them the ability to play live casino online and use other online applications which require high internet speeds. At the same time, the A14 Bionic processor is expected to be included, which will be the first processor chip from any phone manufacturer to be produced on the 5 mm scale. It has already been confirmed that the new iPad Air will ship with the A14 processor, and the likelihood is that the next generation of iPhones will also be powered by this chip. The chip is about 40% faster than the one which powered the previous generation of iPads and iPhones, and so users can expect a huge boost to performance from these new Apple devices.
Other features which will be part of the iPhone 12 Pro include LiDar cameras and a screen having a refresh rate of 120 Hz. All the phones will have OLED screens, while the size will be as follows: a 5.4 inch screen for the iPhone 12, 6.1 inch screen for the iPhone 12 Max, and a similar 6.1 inch screen for the iPhone 12 Pro, while the most expensive of them all, the iPhone 12 Pro Max, will have a 6.7 inch screen.
The new iPhones are expected to be able to handle even the most graphics-heavy games with ease, thanks mainly to the new processor being used. The A14 processor will also ensure that users who need to do other processor-intensive tasks, such as video and sound editing, for example, will also be able to do so comfortably on their phones, although an iPad or Mac would be better suited for these purposes. The price range for the phones is expected to be $649 for the basic iPhone 12, $749 for the iPhone 12 Max, $999 for the iPhone 12 Pro, and finally up to $1,099 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
In terms of the look and design, there is already some information doing the rounds on what the new iPhone is expected to look like. All the models will have a flatter and squarer design as compared to the previous version, somewhat similar in appearance to the iPhone 5. The notch on the top of the screen will be slimmer, allowing more of the screen to be used in the display, while there are also reports that the chassis of the phone has magnets. Their usage is unclear so far, but some speculation is that these will be used for wireless charging. The cameras will be located in the same place where they were for the iPhone 11. In terms of storage, the base iPhone will have 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB variants, while the Pro series will start at 128 GB and go up to 512 GB. All the phones will have a 2,577 mAh battery, except the Pro Max, which will come with a 3,687 mAh battery.
Apple launch events are always highly awaited every year, and this year is no different, especially due to the changes expected to the iPhone, but also the new versions of the iPads and Macs that are expected to be launched as well.
