In addition to thanking fans for their ongoing support, Atlus noted the releases of titles like Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s remake, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Soul Hackers 2, and Persona 5 Royal on the Nintendo Switch. The publisher also mentions how the remaster of Persona 5 Royal sold a million copies in its first month and has now sold over 3.3 million copies globally.
Developer Shinjiro Takada speculated that fans would see additional material centred around Shin Megami Tensei’s 31st anniversary, noting that the series’ most recent mainline instalment, Shin Megami Tensei 5, has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide. A similar remark from the publisher in 2019 was followed by the announcement of four new titles, including the aforementioned Persona 5 Royal. Whether it’s more Persona, Project Re: Fantasy, or a brand-new, unreleased Shin Megami Tensei game, fans simply have to wait and see what Atlus has in store.
