According to a source, Netflix has started showing movies and TV episodes to limited groups of customers in the United States before their general release. Subscribers who participate in the feedback panels will be invited to fill out surveys after watching “many future movies and series over the span of around six months,” according to the source. The corporation then considers the feedback for potential revisions prior to the release of a film or television show.
Netflix is well-known for testing several of its software features before releasing them to the public, such as the Top 10 row and the “Play Something” shuffle tool, so it’s maybe not unexpected that the firm is also testing its content with small groups of people. The corporation appears to have been doing this since May 2021.
The organizations could assist Netflix in identifying potential hits as it attempts to recover from the damage from its most recent earnings report, in which it reported losing subscribers for the first time in over a decade. Netflix laid off 150 employees and at least 26 contractors Thursday, following more layoffs in April. The company has also announced the debut of an ad-supported plan and a crackdown on password sharing.
