Modder Eliminates Monotonous Zero-Gravity Room Puzzles in Starfield on PC

New Mod Seamlessly Bypasses Tedious Temple Puzzles in the Game

Starfield, Bethesda’s highly anticipated space-faring RPG, has seen a welcome alteration on the PC gaming front. A modder has ingeniously removed the monotonous zero-gravity room puzzles from the game, offering players a more streamlined experience.

A few hours into the main questline of Starfield, players are introduced to a series of temples scattered throughout the vast galaxy. These temples hold the promise of granting special powers and rewards upon completion, making them pivotal in transforming the game’s combat mechanics. The allure of discovering each temple’s unique abilities adds a layer of excitement to the gameplay.

However, a significant drawback was the need to navigate through tedious zero-gravity segments to solve the temple puzzles. These segments required players to fly through a series of glowing rings in a repetitive layout. There were no additional obstacles or challenges, just the same sequence of rings across all 24 temples in the game.

Tired of these repetitive puzzles, a modder known as johndoebowler has taken action. They’ve released the “No More Temple Puzzles” mod on Starfield’s NexusMods page. How does it work? According to the mod’s description, players can “seamlessly complete temple puzzles upon entering the temple.” No additional actions are required, and there’s no need to collect any orbs; just step into the ring!

If you’re concerned that this might be seen as cheating or playing the game in a manner unintended by the developers, it’s worth noting that similar mechanics exist in previous Bethesda games. In Skyrim, for instance, players could absorb Words of Power from walls found throughout the world simply by standing in front of them. While dungeons were usually prerequisites, this approach was more engaging than the repetitive ring-flying sequences in Starfield.

This “No More Temple Puzzles” mod is just one of the many player-created enhancements available for Starfield. Other mods include those that adjust jogging speeds for a more realistic experience, re-enable achievements after mod installations, and, as is tradition in Bethesda games, there are already several Thomas the Tank Engine-themed mods to add a touch of whimsy to the game.
