Microsoft Teams, the popular video conferencing service, is set to introduce an update that promises to simplify the synchronization of Outlook email calendars with Teams, potentially eliminating the risk of missing crucial meetings or workplace calls.
This forthcoming update will revolutionize the way users manage their calendars, ensuring that any changes made in Outlook will be instantly reflected in their Teams calendar, and vice versa. This real-time synchronization is expected to streamline scheduling and reduce the chances of scheduling conflicts or oversights.
Microsoft has detailed this feature in its entry on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, where it is described as providing real-time calendar synchronization and updates between Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
Although the update is currently in development, it is slated to begin rolling out in September 2023 for both Windows and Mac devices. While there is no mention of availability for iOS and Android at this stage, it’s reasonable to anticipate that if the feature proves successful, it will eventually be extended to these platforms.
