Microsoft Entrusts DeepMind Co-founder Mustafa Suleyman to Lead Consumer AI Initiative

In a strategic maneuver aimed at fortifying its foothold in the burgeoning realm of artificial intelligence (AI), Microsoft has appointed Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of DeepMind, to helm a newly established consumer AI unit.

Spearheading this initiative as CEO of Microsoft AI, Suleyman is tasked with consolidating the company’s diverse consumer-facing AI endeavors, including prominent offerings like the Copilot chatbot and the innovative Bing browser, which leverage cutting-edge AI technologies.

The Copilot, a standout creation engineered in collaboration with OpenAI, serves as a linchpin in Microsoft’s quest to monetize its AI endeavors, boasting capabilities ranging from email composition to document summarization and presentation creation.
