Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Remake Stuns with In-Engine Footage

Konami's Graphical Overhaul Impresses Gamers

Konami dropped a bombshell during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase on October 25, revealing the first in-engine footage of the highly-anticipated Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake. The visuals are nothing short of breathtaking.

Metal Gear Solid Delta, often confused as ‘Triangle,’ is the official title for the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, which was initially announced during Sony’s State of Play event back in May. Considering that the original PS2 classic hit the shelves in 2004, it was only natural to expect a substantial graphical facelift for the remake, considering the vast leaps in game development technology over the years. In this latest trailer, Konami undeniably delivers on that front.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the world of Snake, as he masterfully employs stealth tactics to navigate past foes. He can be seen wading through a body of water, hugging the edge of a cliff, and preparing to strike an unsuspecting adversary. Keen observers will notice a myriad of intricate details: dust gently falls onto Snake’s face as he traverses the cliff, foliage gently sways in the forested areas, and within a cave showcased in the video, the light filtering through gaps in the walls reflects on the water’s surface and dances upon the rocky walls. Furthermore, it has been officially confirmed that this remake will harness the power of Unreal Engine 5.

As for the release date, regrettably, it remains shrouded in mystery, leaving both nostalgic fans and newcomers eagerly awaiting their chance to dive into this remastered classic. Whenever it does arrive, Metal Gear Solid Delta will be accessible on several platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

In other Metal Gear-related news, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 debuted earlier this week, and a dedicated modder wasted no time enhancing the PC version with 4K support, elevating the visual experience to a new level of brilliance. Metal Gear fans have plenty to look forward to, both in the nostalgia of the past and the promise of a visually stunning future.
