Marvel Snap’s Epic Crossover with Midnight Suns: Tarot Cards Just the Beginning

Unleashing the Full Potential of This Marvel Collab

In a remarkable crossover event, Marvel Snap recently joined forces with Marvel’s Midnight Suns, delivering an array of tarot card-themed variants that quickly became a hit among players. This collaboration marked a groundbreaking moment, as it was the first time Marvel Snap had crossed paths with another Marvel game. While the tarot card variants were a fantastic addition, many felt it was a missed opportunity not to fully embrace the crossover’s potential and introduce even more Midnight Suns-themed content.

With the Marvel gaming universe flourishing, featuring titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and the eagerly awaited EA Motive’s Iron Man game, the possibilities for Marvel Snap to explore captivating crossovers are boundless. Marvel’s Midnight Suns, with its card-based strategy RPG gameplay, seemed like the perfect partner for Marvel Snap, and its in-game collectible tarot cards were an obvious choice for Marvel Snap variants. Beyond these tarot cards, Midnight Suns offered a wealth of content that could have enriched Marvel Snap’s Bloodstone season.

While the tarot card collectibles undeniably captured the hearts of fans, Marvel Snap could have delved deeper into Midnight Suns’ inspiration and introduced a wider range of variants. Each of the heroes featured in Midnight Suns could have been a potential source for unique Marvel Snap variants, showcasing the characters in their distinctive Midnight Suns attire. This expansion could have given players a chance to collect and play with Midnight Suns heroes like Nico Minoru, Blade, Magik, Ghost Rider, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch, Deadpool, Morbius, Venom, and Storm.

Marvel Snap had room for more than just cosmetics inspired by Midnight Suns. The game could have introduced entirely new cards for its Bloodstone season, based on characters from Midnight Suns that were yet to make an appearance. Characters like The Hunter, Caretaker, and even Lilith could have seamlessly integrated into Marvel Snap, offering players another layer of depth and motivation to explore Midnight Suns. While this season marks the debut of Nico Minoru in Marvel Snap, including an original Midnight Suns character like The Hunter would have celebrated this collaboration even more.

This crossover could have been a two-way street, allowing Marvel Snap to influence Midnight Suns as well. Although Midnight Suns’ new content updates concluded with the Storm DLC, adding some Marvel Snap-related items in a minor update would have been a delightful surprise for players. Simple gestures like presenting a deck of Marvel Snap cards as a gift during hero hangouts or introducing Marvel Snap Infinity borders for cards in players’ Midnight Suns decks would have been a thoughtful nod to the collaboration between these Marvel gaming giants.
