Lenovo introduces new ai tools to boost workplace productivity

Lenovo is making a major push into the “personal AI” space with several new announcements from CES 2026. The centerpiece of the reveal is Lenovo Qira, a platform designed to act as a “Personal Ambient Intelligence System.” The goal of Qira is to create a seamless experience across all of a user’s devices, whether they are using a Lenovo PC, tablet, or Motorola smartphone. By using a unified AI that follows the user from one screen to another, Lenovo hopes to make it easier for professionals to maintain their workflow without having to manually sync files or settings between different pieces of hardware.

The company is also adding specific AI enhancements to its “Aura Edition” hardware, which includes the latest ThinkPad and ThinkCentre models. One of the standout features is “Smart Modes,” which allows the computer to automatically adjust system settings based on what the user is doing. For example, it can optimize the screen and performance for a video conference or tighten security settings when working in a public place. Another new addition is “Smart Share,” an updated version of their tap-to-share tool that now supports video alongside photos. These tools are designed to reduce the “digital friction” that often slows down daily tasks.

For small and medium-sized businesses, Lenovo introduced a dedicated “Vertical AI Solution.” This suite focuses on practical tasks like secure, on-device meeting transcriptions and multilingual captioning. Processing these tasks locally on the device—rather than in the cloud—is a key part of Lenovo’s strategy, as it improves privacy and reduces the delay that can occur with web-based AI tools. The company also hinted at an upcoming AI-assisted video generation tool that would allow business owners to create marketing or training content directly on their laptops with minimal effort.

To support all this new technology, Lenovo has updated its “Premier Support for Devices” service. This now includes an integrated AI Agent that can help workers troubleshoot common issues 24/7. If the AI can’t fix the problem, it can seamlessly escalate the issue to a live human expert. This combination of hardware, specialized software, and proactive support is how Lenovo plans to stay ahead in a market that is increasingly focused on how AI can deliver actual, measurable productivity gains for workers.
