As a frequent user of the Instagram social media app and as a public account on the network, you may have been curious about who has been viewing your profile on the social media platform.
However, while you would generally expect individuals who check your profile to follow you, there are some people who take great delight in simply visiting someone’s profile and not taking any further action. This can be quite risky because these individuals could be stalkers or even someone with malevolent intent on their part.
Now, the question is, “Can you see who has walked into your Instagram account?” and the answer is no, as previously stated. Instagram, like its parent company Facebook, is tight-lipped about the reason behind this, but there has been no mention of implementing a feature that would allow users to know who has visited their profile to date.
If you have a business account which is obviously public, you can view page insights, which tells you how many visitors your account has got in the past day or week, including the country of origin, but there is no part of the insights which talk about who has viewed the profile.
Then what about third-party apps on the App Store?
Yes, there are numerous apps available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store that claim to be able to tell you who has visited your profile, but this is not always the case. There is no app in the ecosystem that can provide you with information about who has viewed your profile, and if an app makes such claims, it is simply clickbait to attract users’ attention.
The reason why these apps do not work is because the Instagram API does not share this information with third-party suppliers as well, making it nearly difficult for these third-party app developers to provide such capabilities to their clients through their apps. Using these apps will at the very least result in a randomised list of Instagram users who may or may not have anything to do with your account, and the worst part is that some of these app developers charge you a sum of money to obtain these apps, which is once again a very unethical thing to do in this day and age.
Finally, all we can tell you is that there is presently no method to view who has visited your Instagram profile, and it does not appear like Instagram has plans to implement such a function in the near future.
