Hulu’s No One Will Save You Is the Perfect Halloween Chiller, Critics Say

Hulu's Sci-Fi Horror-Thriller "No One Will Save You" Earns Rave Reviews

Halloween is just around the corner, and Hulu’s latest movie, “No One Will Save You,” is here to send shivers down your spine before the spooky season officially arrives.

In this sci-fi horror-thriller, Kaitlyn Dever plays Brynn, an outcast in her community for undisclosed reasons. However, her status as a social pariah becomes the least of her concerns when aliens invade her hometown. These extraterrestrial beings possess mind control abilities and force the local population into submission. Brynn is left with no choice but to fight for her survival and freedom.

The two-minute teaser provides a glimpse of the eerie atmosphere and suspenseful storyline. However, it’s not just the trailer that has captured attention; the movie has received critical acclaim as well.

As of its release date on September 22, “No One Will Save You” boasts a perfect 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, albeit based on a small sample of eight reviews. Nevertheless, this is a remarkable achievement for a sci-fi horror-thriller, and early reviews from various outlets have also been positive.

Digital Spy’s Ian Sandwell awarded the film four out of five stars, likening it to Hulu’s 2022 Predator prequel “Prey” and describing it as “so effective and innovative in its approach to a classic home-invasion thriller that it’s a must-see movie.”

Andrew Webster of The Verge dubbed it a “taut, minimalist sci-fi horror,” while Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter praised Kaitlyn Dever’s exceptional performance, calling it a “virtuoso turn in [this] intense alien home invasion thriller.”

Samantha Coley of Collider showered the film with praise, stating that director Brian Duffield’s “thought-provoking creature feature promises to become a favorite among lovers of both genres.”

While the majority of reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, there are a few dissenting voices. Marya Gates of IGN noted that the film attempts to do too much, resulting in a convolution of genres and themes. Similarly, Matt Donato of Paste Magazine mentioned that the film struggles to reconcile its self-assured message with subplot themes related to Brynn’s childhood tragedy.

Overall, “No One Will Save You” promises to provide the spine-chilling thrills and chills that horror enthusiasts crave as Halloween approaches.
