One of the features that was most requested on Apple Maps, was the support to add stops on your desired route. It was a long time coming, and finally, the feature has arrived on all compatible iOS devices via the all-new iOS 16 upgrade. Basically, multiple-stop support allows you to add new places to your route. This is useful when you are going from Place A to Place B, but want to visit a few places along the way. Even if the stop is not on your route, adding it to your itinerary will allow Apple Maps to create a route that takes you to your destination via the stop.
The feature was introduced a lot earlier on in Google Maps, but as they say, better late than never.
