You meet a lot of people on Facebook, form bonds, collaborate, and even reconnect with old acquaintances. There may be some situations where a person you meet may not always have your best interests at heart, and may also indulge in some not-so-great activity on the social media platform. Facebook takes this very seriously and in effect, has created a block feature that allows you to shut down these accounts and keep them from interacting with you on the platform until you see fit.
Blocking users ensures that the latter is unable to interact with your posts, send you a message on messenger, or even search for you across the platform. The operation is in effect as long as you deem it to be and if there comes a time where you reconcile with the blocked user and wish to unblock them on Facebook, you can do it as well.

Web Version
Step 1. Head to the Facebook web version and log in using your current credentials.
Step 2. Click on the ‘Arrow icon‘ at the top right-hand side of the home page.
Step 3. From the drop-down menu, click on the ‘Settings and Privacy‘ option.
Step 4. Next, click on the ‘Settings‘ button to enter the settings menu.
Step 5. On the left-hand side pane, click on the ‘Blocking‘ tab.
Step 6. On the right-hand side window, click on the ‘Unblock‘ button next to the name of the blocked user that you have reconciled with.
Smartphone-version
Step 1. Open the Facebook app on your smartphone.
Step 2. Tap on the ‘Menu‘ button from the home page of the application.
Step 3. Tap on the ‘Settings and Privacy‘ tab.
Step 4. From the drop-down menu, tap on the ‘Settings‘ option.
Step 5. Under the audience and visibility tab, tap on the ‘Blocking‘ option.
Step 6. Click on the ‘Unblock‘ button next to the name of the blocked user that you have reconciled with.
The user will now be unblocked and they will now be able to interact with your account, send you a message and even search for you across the platform.
